Jack's Americana Tracks Premieres October 19

Jack's Americana Tracks hits "The Best Station In The Universe" on Saturday, October 19, at 3 p.m. Pacific on The Mountain FM radio network! Available in Alpine at 107.9 FM and around the world at TheMountainFM.com, Jack will take his tracks to a wider range of music.

Americana Music is a roots musics formed by the confluence of the shared and varied traditions that make up the American musical ethos; specifically those sounds that are merged from folkcountrybluesrhythm and blues, gospel rock and roll and other influences.

Still contemporary music the show will incorporates elements of various American music styles, resulting in a distinctive roots-oriented sound that lives in a world apart from the pure forms of the genres upon which it may draw. While acoustic instruments are often present and vital, Americana also often kicks axe.

Jack will draw from local artists Nena Anderson, Missy Andersen, Robin Henkel, Billy Watson, Whitney Shaw, Steve Poltz, Christopher Dale, Mojo Nixon, Kande Kane, Chris Carpenter, and other fine San Diego-based artists.

Other artists include J.J. Cale, Dilbert McClinton, Roseann Cash, Alabama Shakes, Buddy Guy, The Slide Brothers,  Sheryl Crow, Townes Van Zandt, Jerry Jeff Walker, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Rickie Lee Jones, Leon Russel. Jack also wants to make a case for Elvis Costello, and Elton John as "the British cousins have taken our music and added some twang and stories as well."

The four-hour show is on the first three Saturdays of the month; making room for Bree Walker's public affairs show the final week of the month.
